MERMAID AU
1.Good: Everything said about merfolks is wrong. They are reclusive, but not evil. Especially not this one. Maybe they even saved you. No matter what, they love you, absolutely. And, were you to be honest, it was love at first sight on your end, too. But that doesn't mean you can be together...at least, not easily.
2. Bad: Come, jolly sailor bold. Come into the arms of a mermaid, and you will not regret it. They will hold you, and you cannot resist, even as you're dashed against the rock.
3. Wild: Good and evil cannot be applied to mermaids here, for they are like any other wild creature, more beast than man. Yet the more they're exposed to the kindness of humans or others who live on land, the more fond they grow towards it - and those who show them that kindness.

KAWAII AS SHIT
1. Sweet dreams It's been a long day and all you want to do is sleep or just rest your eyes for a bit. Hopefully whoever is close by doesn't mind if you use them as a blanket.

Of course Ai takes his hand, but the whole time he's looking down in embarrassment. Even when Rin pulls him and even when they're already on the dance floor. It's quite hard not to think of what the other students would think of this but there are times when you just have to push past your worries and look at the amazing thing you have in front of you. For a brief moment Ai considers putting his hand on his waist (he's a man after all!!!! that's what guys did) but the mere thought of being so close made him blush, so he settles on the shoulder instead. For now.

He's uncertain of how to give him a prompt response, mainly because in his eyes Rin has always been amazing at everything he did... and every time he discovered something new, it only made Ai admire him even more. But Ai is quick to realize that seeing another side of Rin is actually a good thing, whether it be a result of nervousness or not.

[ He re-positions himself to the slight right of Rin, decreasing the chances of any further accidents. Proper stance would be to hold hands, but the desire to move Rin's hands away from his waist is null.
Instead his hands stay in it's current position around his shoulders, only this time more firmly as if he had been holding back. (And considering how he has pulled them just a bit closer, he has.) Ai had been asked to lead, and he had every intention of doing it seriously. Although his eyes harden, it contains every hint of a spark, full of determination.
His movements are subtle, but to simply transfer your weight side to side should easily be a universal language understood by all, and he would only lift his foot ever so slightly in order to coax him along in what would eventually become a slow rotation. There's no looking down now but as the seconds passes he can feel his heart beating faster and he secretly wonders how long this song is and when it will be over while simultaneously hoping it will never end. A few more seconds pass when - ] I..Is that better [ that hint of uncertainty slips out. ]

Is it better, he asks! It's not good enough. Rin would easily take a little closer, less focused on the dance, but the very consideration frustrated and flustered him.)) Tch.... ((is his contrary answer, and he realizes at the same time that a scoff like that could easily startle the poor guy he was dancing with. It was better; Rin just has no ability to watch his damn mouth. And he had no idea how to be forward and tell Ai with the correct words.
A second later, Rin lets go of his reservations, moving across the last distance between them so that their bodies touch. His arms wrap around Ai's lower back and his head tucks down to whisper to him.)) Stop worrying so much.

Eyes blinking open, Ai wraps his arms around Rin's neck and he manages a few small nods in response. He had agreed to dance with him already; what is he worrying about? He didn't care about the people, nor the fact that he had forgotten about the dance momentarily because Rin was so close to him now. He could feel heat radiating off his cheeks, off his whole body and he breathes in to immerse himself in this moment.
He's going to be sad when he graduates. ]

Ai would be sad, but Rin... he fell to anger, and already he felt mad at himself. Last year he came back to America, he had two years, two years prior to get his shit together, and he ended up so wrapped up in his weird love-hate relationship with Haru he'd completely missed out on his old roommate last year. Sousuke came along... and he missed out a second time on getting closer to the young swimmer.
If he hadn't been dumb and blind to other people his whole life, maybe he would have gotten to this point a lot sooner. And now he would be leaving in a few short months to university. Which is to say... he wishes he liked Ai this much a lot sooner. He wishes he didn't have to have Sousuke point it out to him months too late. He wised he'd been a normal kid when he first met Ai. And now it was just too late to try, he reasons.
But at least he could have this dance.
Not that he wants to stop when the song ends, but otherwise it'd get awkward right? He steps back, hands still on Ai's waist, and stares down for a long, awkward moment.))

U-Um, thank you!... too... [ is the best he can manage.
Ai knows that Rin has amazing things ahead of him, so he won't allow himself to be sad for too long. Because the same person that was able to point out those feelings to Rin was able to guide him as well. Because of Sousuke he knows that graduation is not the end. ]
I'll definitely work harder next year. And we'll still be able to swim again. [ Never really one to hold back his true feelings (whether in words or expression), even if he doesn't pour his heart out he could say that much. While it was admiration that caused him to look up to Rin, to be able to be so close by his side as his friend and junior, noticing the little things that others wouldn't would often make his day, or hell even his week. The journey may have been a little rough at some points, but he's never even thought of regretting a moment of it. Never will.
Especially since over time his feelings had easily turned into something more, with an admiration being one that proved to be full of merit and not disappointment. Whatever amazing thing Rin does in the future, Ai will always be happy for him. ] So what I'm saying is...

Waiting wasn't his thing, he thinks as he sets his hand on Ai's head.)) Don't take too long, ((but he believed in Ai, and in his hard work. A smile traces over his lips as he speaks the words, admiring Ai's adamant attitude. It was that same attitude that pursued Rin his first year here, the same which made them the friends they are today.
He tries to move his hand away, but instead it smooths down Ai's hair, a short thought on Rin's mind. Live without regrets... there's nearly no hesitation in his movement after that. His hand scoops behind Ai's head and he leans down to place a smooth, tender kiss on Ai's lips.
It feels like swimming a race, but with a different sort of breathlessness. his heart pounds the same as when he's finished. The afterglow of adrenaline.
But it ends all too quick as some Taylor Swift song starts playing on his phone, and he pulls away very suddenly to check it. Did she seriously change his ring tone AGAIN????)) Er, sorry. I need to get Gou.
