MERMAID AU
1.Good: Everything said about merfolks is wrong. They are reclusive, but not evil. Especially not this one. Maybe they even saved you. No matter what, they love you, absolutely. And, were you to be honest, it was love at first sight on your end, too. But that doesn't mean you can be together...at least, not easily.
2. Bad: Come, jolly sailor bold. Come into the arms of a mermaid, and you will not regret it. They will hold you, and you cannot resist, even as you're dashed against the rock.

[okay i wasn't ready for it but now i am. the question is are you ready for the pain?!?!? anyway- sousuke knew it was only a matter of time before his condition worsened. he was actually expecting to have to throw in the towel so soon though. he took a deep breath in as he collected his thoughts. breaking the news to the team would probably be... well it would just be. he wasn't actually putting any thought into how that was going to go. he was sure most of them would understand, and especially if he had to quit due to medical reasons.

Today's been a nice day; he finished his homework an hour earlier than planned, assisted his mother in dusting the living room, and now had a good half a day to spare. Grabbing his wallet, keys, and phone, he makes sure each item was in its respective pocket before bowing out, crunching his way down the sidewalk. Brisk, sharp cold hits his cheeks and turns his nose red almost immediately; he adjusts his scarf to cover his mouth and keeps going. The slight tingle of his fingers and the cold air bypassing his glasses and touching his eyes brings a smile to his face.

It'll be a good winter. As he slips from his neighborhood, the walk leads him further into the city, and he begins passing more familiar locations--and faces, it seems. He's not the only one out in this weather.]

It's just another beautiful and sunny day in the boot-shaped peninsula, when Momo saw something of extreme beauty and he knew he had to do anything to have it. ((Seijuuuro was really looking forward to making a new friend in the area. He had a number, but you know, there was nothing like freshness. [The stress of exams had been getting to Rei that year. Worrying about colleges, deciding his future, studying and cramming for entrance exams and current tests, and his pile of homework had certainly dragged him away from his boyfriend for the better part of two weeks. As he was quite relieved to know that Makoto was giving him space to study, accompanied by little cheerful pick-me-up texts and careful glances during swim practice, Rei had to admit that he missed him.

That Saturday, after finishing a practice exam, Rei's plans to go home and cram more regarding a class test in two weeks had been completely thrown out the window when the brunet had landed on his doorstep with a welcoming smile and open arms, and homemade cookies from his mother, decorated crudely by his little siblings. Rei had no choice but to be an amicable host, despite how many times Makoto's been over. With Rei's parents out of town on business, he has to do his best to make sure the Ryugazaki household stays as pristine and proper as possible and that his guests--or rather, one guest is comfortable.

--But that all begins to melt when the movie on the television becomes dim background noise and their tea grows cold, and he's curled up at Makoto's side on the living room couch. His worries merely plague his mind, but they are unable to distract him from the warm presence of this life-sized teddy bear next to him. Everything pales in comparison to him, from sugary treats to his favorite dinner swimming to track, science to... well. With an almost dreamy look in his eyes, Rei just leans his head onto Makoto's shoulder and smiles.]

((It was that he'd terribly missed Rei for all the time that he was wrapped up in studying. One could suppose it wasn't awful that Rei was so focused on his studying, either, as Makoto had similar dedications for himself regarding the thrill of test after test. But Rei was more invested than Makoto was, considerably so, even if Makoto wasa decent student his focus would always keep him in in prose. It didn't have the same burden that math or science had- or at least, Makoto felt that way. So giving Rei his space wasn't a big deal... a little troublesome for how he missed Rei in his off time.

Makoto wasn't really all that focused on the movie to begin, clearly distracted by the fabric of Rei's shirt or the hairs on his head or just Rei in general. An arm stretched around Rei, he was mostly just enjoying the company. Makoto turned his faked attention at the TV to finally give way to what really had his attention, and smiled down at Rei.)) Good.... ((his cheeks flush a little, embarrassed at himself.)) I was a little worried I might interrupt something when I stopped by. I'm glad I did, though.
